Description
The Egli Saga began when Fritz got an old Vincent and made it fast enough to win. First, he tuned the engine; then he invented a new frame and went out to win against the day's fastest motorcycles. This fabulous Egli-Vincent story takes roots in 1965 when Fritz Egli started to race his Vincent Rapide in the Swiss hill climb championship. After two seasons of heavy modifications on the engine and the chassis, and the impossibility to win races, his conclusion was final: the chassis of his Vincent was completely outdated compared to the benchmarked Manx so he designed a new one during the winter 1966 to 1967. That became the beginning of the famed Egli Vincent that he has made ever since. The secret to the frame is a 3inch spine frame in which the engine is the stressed member, it also doubles as the oil tank to save space and weight. This particular Motorcycle was created by Fritz Egli in Switzerland in 2016 for a prominent Sydney doctor "Luis Gallur" as a special favour as Fritz sold his manufacuting rights to Patric Godet. It has only travelled 800 Kilometres since it was built and is available here in perfect condition. Buyers guide A$155 - 165,000
