Information
Lot # 13
Group - Category Construction & Farm - Livestock
Lead (VIC) MID’ZII - ARP X ARABIAN GELDING
Description
* AS PROVIDED BY VENDOR * NAME: Mid’Zii BREED: ARP x Arabian SEX: Gelding HEIGHT:14hh (Not measured) AGE: 3 PAPERS:(SUPPLIED BY VENDOR) No Zii will be 4 in July, I've owned him from 4 months old (he was weaned at 7 months and didn't move to my property until then). Zii has been handled every day, he comes running when called, easy to catch, lead, tie up, etc. Good for farrier, dentist, worming, vaccinations. He's currently up to date with everything. Zii is smart and learns things well, he loves attention and treats and will cooperate well with you when working one on one for the attention and praise he receives. I originally bought Zii thinking he could be harness trained to pair with my Welsh C later, but he's too big. I kept him thinking I'd break him in for me to ride, but he's getting too big for that and he's far too energetic for me. Zii is in the middle of a growth spurt now, I thought he'd mature around 13.3hh but he's going to be at least 14hh or probably more. Zii will not likely be a harness prospect, he will be an excellent sports or mounted games pony, or possibly jumper and would be a good pony club mount, once he's broken in. Zii accepts the bit and has been lunged with a roller and cavesson, but he hasn't been mouthed, only worn the bit for a few minutes to chew on. He has been sat on once when he was sleepy and he was a very good boy, but I personally wouldn't try that when he's wide awake. He will need to be broken in properly, before I would consider him safe to get on. Zii is mouthy and will nip if you're not paying attention, I've used his desire to put everything in his mouth to teach him a few tricks, like squeaking a squeaky toy on command and choosing a blue or yellow frisbee when I say the colour (sometimes he just grabs both because the lot has to go in his mouth. But this is also why he's taken so easily to having a bit in his mouth). He likes to be the centre of attention and he gets jealous of Bandit, who he shares a paddock with (also for sale), if I give Bandit more attention than him. Since I had planned to keep Zii and I've had him for over 3 years, I'm very bonded with him, so this is a hard sale. He's a very good boy, but he needs a younger, more physically fit rider than a broken old grandma. He would be easy to break in I believe, because he's an intelligent and willing student who responds very well to kindness and affection. His name, Mid'Zii is pronounced mid zee and it means loyal spirit, he answers to Mid'Zii, Zii, or Zii-bum. I'd love to stay in touch and see what Zii becomes, but I also understand that some people prefer to move on and losing contact is also possible. This is the biggest hurdle I've had to get my mind around to accepting. I only hope that his new life and new home is kind to him, because he really is a good boy that can make you proud. Due to my own age, health and physical condition, I'm not a good match for Zii and have decided that I'm too old and broken to keep working with the younger horses, Zii is for sale through no fault of his own.
