Archie is a beautiful boy with a nice, solid build and correct conformation.
I have had Archie since October 2023, and brought him back in work after he's had some time off with his previous owner. He was well behaved and good to bring back in work, and hasn't put a foot wrong since I've owned him. From my understanding, he's done trail riding with previous owners but not so much dressage work or jumping. He is responsive to the leg aids and goes in trot and canter very easily. He needs to be told to slow down every now and then, especially during the first 10 minutes of riding so if you are looking for a plodder this isn't the one for you :-)
Archie is being sold due to a change in my personal circumstances and due to absolutely no fault of his own. I've ridden Archie in the arena and out on the farm, and he's been good with both. He has also done a couple of small jumps and some poles too.
I've only ridden him out by himself, but he's a 'neutral' type of horse around others so I'm fairly certain that he'd be good to be ridden out with other horses. He's currently in a paddock with two mares, but I've had him paddocked with a young colt as well and he's been good with both. He's not dominant or agressive towards other horses whatsoever, and my mares love him!
Archie is very well behaved with the farrier, good to lead, not pushy on the ground etc and can be tied up for hours without making a fuss. He has never kicked or tried to bite. Has not bucked or reared under saddle.
He is a forward little horse with beautiful gaits and a lovely, soft and comfortable canter. He's good to lunge & free lunge. He is used to a farm environment and being around cattle, sheep, dogs, machinery etc. He is currently barefoot & rugged.
I don't think Archie would be suited for beginners or nervous riders, as he can be quite forward. He listens well to voice and rein aids though, so if you ask him to stop or slow down he will listen. Ideally he goes to a confident, kind and soft rider as he likes being reassured that everything is ok.
He is currently being ridden every second day and he is good after a break. Archie doesn't have any vices or lamenesses / injuries that I know of and is respectful for fences. Currently in a 10 acre hilly paddock and will come running if there's a bucket of feed involved (loves carrots too!).
Very realistic reserve as I need to move a few horses on in the next couple of months.
