Lachie is a beautiful 5yo WB gelding with alot of physical maturing to do still. He is is by Isle of Merlin out of a lunchtime mare. Although he still has a bit of developing to do he is already an impressive type with his tall stature and a beautiful natural arch to his neck.
He was professionally broken in and then did a stint with a professional showjumper. He has been at a trainers for a month focusing on dressage with some light jumping to 80cm due to his age.
Lachie has 3 quality paces with an extraordinary canter and has been ridden on rainy windy days and hasnt really even done a spook.
Lachie is the definition of a "Gentle Giant"
I purchased Lachie at the last auction but due to my own person health issues i am not going to be able to follow through with what i had planned for him and he is by far to nice a horse to just leave sitting in the paddock...so my loss can be someone elses gain.
i have found him to be very sweet and calm to handle on the ground. He is pretty affecionate and is the first to greet me when i go out to the paddock.
Below is a transcript from the trainer he was with up until 2 weeks ago.
Lachie, although lazy at times loves to canter and feels exceptionally well balanced for his age/size/education. his canter is naturally uphill with a clear 3 beat rhythm and he is already developing good jump and range. He is a good mover in the trot with an expressive action and will develop this further as he becomes physically stronger and more in front of the leg. He does have a big active walk with a good overtrack.
He has started turn on the forehand and small leg yields on the circle and to the wall
His willingness, rideability and beautiful temperament would make him an outstanding eventing prospect for a rider looking for a genuine taller mount to progress up the levels with.
Lachie would suit a larger variety of riders as he is straight forward and fun to ride, we would like to see him with someone who is looking to form a partnership with a genuine quality and versatile young horse for the future.
we see him best suited to a dressage or eventing home as he shows talent to progress up these ranks but would also make an excellent adult riding, pony club, inter-school prospect.
He would also be a fun horse to hack out on and pleasure ride. He is quiet enought to be a first young horse for a capable teenager or adult wanting the experience of training a horse along side a good coach or trainer.
